We’ve started a blog

by Brian McNeill

name_tagWe’ve jumped head-first into the world of social media: Facebook. Twitter. Flickr. And now this blog.

Blog … such a dull, anti-climactic word, one sound away from Blah. But it’s a pretty big deal here. See, we’ve been around for over a decade providing the services and infrastructure enabling this internet to take off. It’s been our thing and we’re good at it. Problem is, we don’t like to brag.

Social “networking” is how we first started this venture, in a modest dorm room at UCSD. No hype, no advertisements. And of course, no blog (they didn’t exist). You couldn’t google, tweet, link in, post or IM. We earned a customer through the original social media: word of mouth (yes, face-to-face conversation). And each customer we got, we’ve done our best to keep. Funny thing about providing a good service to people, they’ll tell their friends about it. That’s how we’ve grown for the past 12 years: happy customers telling friends.

Today we hold registrations for nearly a million domains, host thousands of web sites, and route over three million emails every day. Despite those statistics, we’re still that same company from 12 years ago, committed to providing our customers with a quality service. Sure, we graduated, moved out and moved forward, but we’re still a small company and we’re still devoted to being the best at what we do.

So, in this new age of social media, we’re finally taking the opportunity to tell you a little more about who we are and what we do (and maybe brag a little too).

That’s why we’ve started a blog.

I’m always around…I guess I just love you guys too much. :) It’s the service and the pricing, what can I say…it makes me coming back. :D
